Titolo Aglianico Fucci 2001

Member Review by Wine Fire:

This is a pleasant, delicate wine, with a textured dryness. Opens with aromas of honey mixed with plum, prune, blueberry, spicy pepper, smoky cedar and dusty earth. The palate begins with a subtle, low-key medley of slightly sour raisins, compact fruits and assorted spices. Tangy acidity grows during the first hour to support a lengthier finish as time passes, including a growing dryness and a velvety texture, along with astringent tannins on the back. At one hour, add faint notes of blackberry, currant and cranberry in the fruit cup, and a hint of coffee on the long finish This is not a very complex wine, but it is nevertheless delightful, if a bit bitter, and it does evolve over three or four hours, achieving greater depth and breadth with time.
