Food Pairings for Tinto Nogal
Deep inky colour. First aromas of blackberry and redcurrant. Then smoky aromas and notes of vanilla tobacco. Smoked prunes. Black tea leaves. Great complexity with silky tannins and long berry aftertaste. Great wine. Not cheap, but really great.
The 2004 Parcela al Nogal is a single vineyard bottling made from 100%Tempranillo aged for 22 months in French oak. Inky purple, it offers abrooding, promising perfume of wood smoke, toast, violets, plum, and blackberryjam. It has gobs of sweet fruit, superb integration of oak, tannin, andacidity, layers of flavor, and despite its opulence, manages to be elegant atthe same time.
