Tilia Malbec Mendoza 2012
Aromas of black cherries and plums are accompanied by notes of violets and vanilla. On the palate the wine is rich and full-bodied with flavors of juicy blackberries, cranberries, and black currants abound, followed by notes of vanilla and sweet spice. Food Pairing: Pair this Malbec with a meat dish that mirrors its tangy berry flavors like Cranberry Pot Roast or Roast Duck with Sour Cherry Sauce.

The Tilia Malbec-Syrah shows a bright purple color with violet highlights. The nose is full of rich black fruit aromas with light earth notes and a touch of roasted coffee. The palate displays concentrated cassis and black raspberry fruit flavors interwoven with a touch of chocolate and sweet spice finishing with ripe, silky tannins.
This shows light game and spice notes to the ripe plum and cherry puree flavors, with a chewy finish. Drink now.
The 2012 Tilia Malbec is produced with a mixture of grapes from eastern Mendoza and the Uco Valley. They try to harvest early to keep the freshness. The nose has aromas of dark cherries, and is somehow closed and backward, serious. It feels fresh, with maybe less ripeness than other Malbecs from this warm vintage, with notes of blood oranges. It is very tasty. This has a superb quality to price ratio. This is a wine to change the idea of heavy Malbecs that some people have. Drinkable now, but it should also be able to age. Drink 2014–2018.
