What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

"The 2005 Durell Chardonnay is frankly a superb wine which is drinking beautifully right now. I have tasted it blind against the 2005 Durell from Chasseur, Kistler, Flowers and Patz & Hall, (all of which were rated between 92 and 96 by Robert Parker) and I believe it is a better wine than all of them. While there may be a fair bit of beginners luck involved, we will take the results. The wine has excellent balance, good complex fruit and of course the distinctive Durell terroir on the finish. If you like Burgundian Chardonnay, you will love this wine." - Bill

This chardonnay was a pleasure to make and to enjoy. Filled with lush, juicy, aromas and flavor. One glass leads to another. Long and rich on the palate. (try it with a chewy oatmeal raisen cookie)

I agree with Three Sticks Girl, yum! It has a beautiful color, nose of citrus, but oh so much more. You can drink it alone or it is delicious with cheeses, and the lovely finish lingers.

Obviously a fan, as my screen name gives away. This wine tops the list for me. It is a fabulous Chardonnay. It ranks up there with the best Durell Chards (including Kistler's), but is half the price! Yum. It is balanced and bold, the fruit is delicious and leaves an impression from the nose, to the first taste....and all the way to a smooth and satisfying finish.
