User Reviews for Three Rivers Meritage White Columbia Valley

Winemaker's Notes:

Vintage Hot, dry weather from bud break to mid-August led to the earliest harvest start in Washington State. 2004 was a hot growing season followed by a cool September and warmer October, ideal for ripening. The extended length of the 2004 growing season allowed the grapes to fully mature and develop intense rich flavors. Vineyards The Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from Evergreen Vineyard and Alder Creek Vineyard; the Semillon portion was sourced from Rosebud Vineyard. All three of these vineyards are located in the Columbia Valley. The harvest dates for the Sauvignon Blanc were September 14th and October 2nd. The Semillon was harvested September 15th. Fermentation & Aging The Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon used in the White Meritage blend were pressed whole cluster to preserve the integrity of the fruit. It was then barrel fermented in 100% French oak and allowed to sur-lie age for 9 months giving the wine it’s round mouthfeel. Primary fermentation takes approximately thirty days to complete and is conducted in a relatively cool environment (55° F), which helps the wine to retain its fruity characteristics. Appellation: Columbia Valley Blend: Sauvignon Blanc – 63% Semillon – 37% Harvest Brix: 24.0 Final pH: 3.35 Total Acid: 0.64 g/100ml Alcohol: 14.1 % by volume
