What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

This wine is rich, bright and full-bodied, with flavors of apple and pear with an overlying nutty complexity and a crisp finish. It's from the Oakville region of the Napa Valley, where the vines are cooled in the early morning and late evening by fog from San Pablo Bay and bathed in Napa sunshine by day. Wines from this region are knows for their rich texture.

Reviews

From the Beverage Testing Institute World Wine Championships:

88 Points. Silver Medal. Golden yellow color. Aromas of dried lemon and apple have a creamy note and follow through on a round entry to a dryish medium body with good length and a tart, spicy apple skin, limestone, and pineapple core fade. Pair with grilled swordfish with mango salsa. (tasted on Mar-02-2009)
