Food Pairings for Thorn-clarke Red Bordeaux Blend Barossa Valley Barossa Cuvée Shotfire Ridge
($35) light tannins rasberry, chocolate truffle
Dark concentrated fruit, mint, cedar. Nice balance, accessible. Dependable and a good value
Pretty medium ruby color. Thwe nose is all about casis and blackberry with some anise. Quite intense. The palate reveals beautiful pure cabernet qualities of currant, sweet dark fruits, wonderful slight cocoa, and tar. There is a very intense oak quality but this has the fruit to carry it. If I have any complaint its the somewhat high acid level, but its negligable. This is a very elegant intense bottle of wine. A superb finish brings it all home. This was a wonderful deal at $37.00 from Winestilsoldout.com.
Decanted 2 hours, then poured back into the bottle for the trip to Jeff's Sunday Dinner. BEAUFITUL nose of black fruit and violets. Flavors of blackberry preserves and flowers, with a long, tasty finish of cherry and oak. Very smooth, and the decant made the wine relax. Extremely tasty and drinking great rigt now. All is dinner party agreed. Outstanding - 94 points.
san chang gave this to me for my 37th bday... how long ya think i can keep it around? ;) honestly can't say i like it a ton better than their cab but it has a softer smoother touch.
Tried the 2006 of this as well. Does not even compare. love, love, LOVE this wine.

Wine Advocate ReviewThe 2002 Cinq Cepages is impressive. It boasts a deep ruby/purple hue as well as aromas of cedar, black currants, sweet cherries, licorice, and smoky oak. Medium to full-bodied, authoritatively flavored, elegant and impressively long with a velvety texture, it is already delicious and evolved but should drink well for at least another 12-14 years.Wine Tasting NotesEngaging and seductive, the 2002 vintage delivers the signature aromas we look for on Cinq Cepages chocolate covered cherries and hints of mocha. Deep, dense and beautifully balanced, a medium-bodied entry fills the mouth with black plums, hibiscus notes and an exotic floral note that wrap around big, juicy tannins. Highly extracted and perfectly balanced, this wine delivers cedar and sweet roasted oak notes throughout a lingering finish.
"This Grenache (80%)/ Syrah (20%) blend is inspired by the wines ofChateauneuf du Pape. The wine was made by cofermenting the twovarietals (100% from Alder Ridge Vineyard) then barrel aging forsixteen months. The bouquet is of strawberries, blueberries, lavender, pepper and warm summer earth. The rich, warm, full-bodied palate offerslively strawberry flavors with notes of spices, coffee, plums andearth."
