Thimiopoulos Vineyards Uranos Imatheia 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

The vineyards are found in the vinicultural area of Naoussa, in the communities of Trilofo and Fotia, and cover an area of 23 hectares, 145 of which are planted with Xinomavro grapes, while the others are to be planted with white Greek varieties. The “GHI KE URANOS” is exclusively produced from the Xinomavro variety and it first appeared with the 2004 vintage. Its rich aroma includes aromas of red fruits, sun-dried tomato and discreet aromas of vanilla, honey and thyme. Thanks to its long after-fermentation extractions, it has a rich and full mouth as well as a bright color. The method of vinification highlights the terroir and quality of the grapes from which it is produced. The 2005 vintage is included in the Tom Stevenson’s wine guide “WINE REPORT 2008”, in the category “100 most exciting wine finds”, proving the acceptance of Xinomavro in the international market.
