The Standish Wine Company Shiraz Barossa Valley the Standish 2002

Winemaker's Notes:

The Standish Wine company was created when a small parcel of old vine Shiraz was sourced from my parent's vineyard. The century old vines are planted on the typical sand over clay soil profile characteristic of the Vine Vale sub region of the Barossa Valley.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

The sensational 2002 Shiraz (from 89-year-old vines) offers up scents of roasted meats, beef broth, blackberries, and cassis liqueur. Its texture, sumptuous depth, and incredible richness and purity blew me away. Despite its huge size, it possesses t... Robert Parker. A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2002 Standish Shiraz 750ml
