The Show Cabernet Sauvignon California 2006
Jammy and complex..almost zin-like...nice back end tannins...needs 1.5 hrs of decanting. no finish which keeps it from being a 5.
Cherry and vanilla on the nose. The wine is certainly cheap and cheerful - tastes rather manufactured. Its light, sugary sweet and fairly plain, lacking in typical cabernet backbone. Fairly drinkable though. Finishes on sour cherries.
Deep red, almost purple Big & bold, smokey (bouquet of smoked beef), vanilla & cherry Great value for the price.
Decanted 30 min before first taste. Nose is kinda funky...smells like dirt and soap. Earthy. Tastes young, even after more time in the decanter. Somewhat bitter, but cherry fruit is coming though strong. Finish is rather short, slightly bitter/acidic, with some alcohol heat. May improve with more time, but not age-worthy at all. Good - 84 points.
Gift from John and Andrew Jan. 2009 party
Full body, easy tannins, simple drinking wine
I liked it. It was good enough that I was willing to buy it a second time, and will buy it again.

A blend of four coastal counties from Paso Robles to Dry Creek. It's ripe and soft and easy, with blackberry, chocolate. mint and vanilla flavors.
Like a Hatch print for an Elvis gig, The Show grabs your attention. Big and bold, it is dominated by full flavors of dried black cherries, jammy preserves and layers of spice and sweet vanilla. - Winery

Here's another delightful wine from the trio (Charles Bieler, Joel Gott, Roger Scommes) who showed us that jug wines can be fun and good. Three different labels, in the bold, iconic style of 1879, pay homage to the rodeo. The Show opens with deep garnet color and aromas of cassis, plum and clove, leading to juicy flavors of blueberry and blackberry, smooth tannins and a crisp, long finish. This charming wine could share the billing with grilled yellowfin tuna, well-aged cheddar, or pork loin with wild mushroom madeira sauce. The Show is a well-balanced example of Cabernet Sauvignon to enjoy often and at this price, buy a case, and share the experience with family and friends!
