The Seventy Five Wine Company the Sum Red 2016

Member Review by deconut:

This wine is a wonderful blend - if you like The Prisoner (Orin Swift), this is a bit less in price and almost as good.....Wonderful full bodied nose. Fruits, jam, spice and perfectly blended. Same with the flavors - very smooth finish - no disappointment if you like blends!!

The Seventy-Five Wine Company has an honest and historic connection to the vineyards of northern California. All grapes are organically grown and sustainably farmed. The high elevation sunlight combined with the rich volcanic red soils and obsidian fragments produce quality grapes that are extremely unique to the Red Hills area.

Chilled and let sit for a while - very strong nose - lots of pepper and black cherry - this is a wonderful blend - no disappointments here - lovely after 1.5 hours - a little more age and this wine will be sensational. For a 2008 it is incredible.

Cabernet based blend. Honestly, for the same money, I prefer the Amber Knolls cab by 75 Wine Co. This one is a jammy fruit bomb lacking good balance and has no real depth. One curious attribute was the meaty, marinara sauce-like nose. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 10/24/09

This wine was overwhelming in it's fruit. After only a few minutes in the glass it became entirely too jammy.

As we continue to prove our talent at consistently delivering high quality, the 2010 Seventy Five Wine Company Cabernet Sauvignon may be the best we have released to date. We are very proud of this wine. Tuck Beckstoffer

The Sum's nose gives off soaring and wonderfully focused aromas of ripe stone fruit, vanilla, cherries, cedar cigar box, blackberries and cinnamon.

Intense and spicy, with a mix of dried currant, herb, cola, pepper and spice. Full-bodied, firm and complex, this has a pleasant rustic appeal. Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Syrah. Drink now through 2015.

The real star, and a great bargain, is the 2007 The Sum - The Seventy-Five Wine Company. This is an absolute steal when it comes to high-class wine. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, and 10% Petite Sirah, there are 5,200 cases of this wine, which is truly outstanding and an amazing value. Sweet blue and black fruits, camphor, and spice box all jump from the glass of this dense, medium to full-bodied, juicy, supple wine, which is a hedonist's dream come true. This is a beauty to drink over the next 4-5 years. California and Napa Valley need wines like this. Don't dare pass it by!

Rich and dramatic, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Sirah offers smooth, unctuous flavors of cherries, black raspberries, chocolate and pepper. It's a seductively appealing wine, with thick, refined tannins and a dry finish. Should gain in the bottle over the next 4-6 years. Great price for the quality.

A unique new blend from Tuck Beckstoffer’s Seventy-Five Wine Company, The Sum is Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), Syrah (15%) and Petit Sirah (10%). Beckstoffer of course is a member of the family that owns many celebrated vineyards in California’s North Coast so sourcing the best possible grapes goes without saying. The wine is aged for 14 months in 80% new French oak. Robert Parker raved about it, scoring it 90 points and saying “The real star, and a great bargain, is the 2007 The Sum – The Seventy-Five Wine Company.
