The Other Guys Zinfandel Lodi Plungerhead 2010
Plungerhead is a brand of Zinfandel produced by The Other Guys, the hipster offshoot of Sebastiani family wine brands. The bottle features a ZORK closure (a red tear-tab stopper) that matches the Monty Python-esque label image of the bespoke, mustachioed gent with the red plunger on his head. These affordable Zinfandels have gained popularity not only for their unique packaging, but also their value-driven quality.
Great sweet, full bodied and luscious wine. Great buy for a zin.
wife and I loved this wine. strong, good taste and color. great value. sorry we don't do trees, fruit and noses. just like what we like. we like this zin. firstname.lastname@example.org
Amazingly plush fruit carries till finish.Boysenberry, black cherry and plum touched with spice, vanilla and a smoky dried oakleaf tealike touch to round out the profile.
Luscious, smooth and a pleasure. 60 secs. + on the finish. Lacks the big pepper of many zins on the nose and on the taste, but a nice value at $13-15. Pick up a case.
A nice ripe, fruit forward zin with great nuances of pepper and spice and some earthy sage adding a rustic "texture" that zins should have in my opinion. A great Lodi zin for under $15!
Dark red with a nose of black cherry, plum, oak, smoke and a touch of spice, this wine fulfils the promise of the nose with flavors of plum, vanilla, and the barest hint of smoke. It is not a wine that will last long in your cellar though. The tannins and acidity that are necessary for a wine to last in the bottle are lacking here. It is a fruit forward wine that excels at this price point (around $12 per bottle) and one that should be in your rotation as an easy drinking wine that isn’t dependent on food to be enjoyed.

Dark purple in color, the 2008 Lodi Zinfandel blend boasts brambly aromas of dried blueberry, black currants, shitake mushroom, and molasses with hints of cardamom and nutmeg spice. This Zinfandel blend then erupts in your mouth with raspberry liquor, Dutch cocoa powder, blackberry cobbler, cinnamon, and cedar with hints of rosemary and roasted Poblano chilies. The wine lingers on your palate with the combination of fruit, spice, and oak adding to its full bodied nature and mouth filling tannins. Then on the finish, flavors develop into mocha latte, toasted marshmallow, sweetened cranberry, white pepper, and deep roasted French oak. - Winery

This medium-plum colored Zinfandel is very forward with rich and sappy French oak notes, with ripe raspberry and bramble notes up front. The core of the wine is very robust with dark fruit including black cherry and cassis followed by generous and integrated spice flavors of star anise, cardamom, licorice with ample coffee flavors on the backside which finishes with the classic old vine, resinous finish. This wine is the perfect match to St. Louis style ribs with a side of cole slaw or a hearty bowl of turkey chili paired with jalapeno cornbread muffins. Also try this alongside your favorite Mexican dish, such as sizzling chicken fajitas with cilantro and lime.
In the mouth, this Zinfandel has flavors of dried strawberry, dark raspberry, plum sauce, cedar, and pomegranate, with hints of white pepper and cherry liquor. The finish is sweet fruit, toasty oak, and lingering warm spices.
