Plungerhead is a brand of Zinfandel produced by The Other Guys, the hipster offshoot of Sebastiani family wine brands. The bottle features a ZORK closure (a red tear-tab stopper) that matches the Monty Python-esque label image of the bespoke, mustachioed gent with the red plunger on his head. These affordable Zinfandels have gained popularity not only for their unique packaging, but also their value-driven quality.
Fruit forward and luscious without being overpowering. A good low-priced Zin.
Excellent value from "The Other Guys" (Hey Mambo red blend is another of my favorites). This old vine Zin is creamy, rich, and full of berry, and vanilla flavors. I'll be keeping plenty of this around for the fall and winter!
Great value, and delicious!
I agree with the reviewer who thought 'olives.' Light nose, astringent finish. For a zinfandel, there is very little going on. I recommend passing this up even in spite of its eco-friendly no-corkscrew-needed attributes.
Interesting reviews...I get an note of olives speaking of the Mediterranean. Strangely unique, yet good I suppose for the price. If you like Syrah's, go for the Bedford Thompson winery from the Los Olivos area near Santa Ynez.
