The Observatory Syrahcarignan 2003

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

Of the new estates of the Swartland region, the Observatory's wines are not to be missed. This bold red wine is rich yet remains elegant and most impressively expressive of spice, earth and dark currants on the palate. The tannins are fine, mineraled and give a solid backbone to the wine. The fruit is hand harvested, with low yields, and without the use of synthetic pesticides.
