The Hess Collection Montery Chardonnay 2007
Editorial Reviews for The Hess Collection Montery Chardonnay
Almost classic California Chardonnay yet it shows a lovely restrained quality and even exhibits an almost salty, oyster shell note over the lightly fruited and slightly oaky tones. Shows really nice balance. The entry is soft and lush and the restrained exhibited on the nose translates to the palate with it’s creamy, yellow fruit and integrated spicy oak tones. There’s not much finish here but the little that’s there is nice with sweet tropical fruit tones. A very serviceable Chardonnay 87pts
Apple and pear aromas. A plain wine, some oak and a hint of sweetness. Simple wine with an oaky finish.
full of golden fruit, vanilla and oak. Melon, pears, apple butter toast, tropical fruit driven.
Surprisingly grassy nose for a chardonnay, with hay and green apple aromas. Great mouthfeel, this is a voluptuous wine thats rich and smooth. Full of fat tropical fruit flavors. Slightly lacking in acidity, the wine comes across a little rich and flabby. Finishes on peaches and mango.
its a good chard if youre on a budget but definitely has an ammoniated quality that could be counteracted with more subtle oaking! could begreat
