Add your reviewGood. Decanting would probably make it lean towards very very good. Oaky, but not enough to make it an O Bomb. Sweet leather nose, solid tannic elements keep it grounded. Pull out the seared tbone and stewed tomato garlic swiss chard.
Great example of a Napa mountain cab. Earlier vintages (99, 01) were even better. This wine was my first introduction so it and this winery will always be a personal favorite (helps too that I have family ties to the winery)
If anyone goes to Napa, I recommend this Winery. Its hard to pick one wine to recommend tops. This wine is a classic, try the Select Chard and Allomi Cab for everyday drinking.
Excellent smooth, strong berry flavor - love The Hess Collection Mt. Veeder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 and 2002
Absolutely delicious Mt. Veeder cab. Nose is absolutely phenomenal, currant, NesQuik, blackberry, and a slight bell pepper started to come out about an hour after opening. Palate is smooth. Blackcurrant, blackberry on the palate. Absolutely delightful paired with a lightly seasoned steak.

Aromas of toffee and wild mountain blackberries fill the glass, while the rich mid-palate of boysenberry coulis parlays into a long, silky finish.
Small amounts of Malbec and Merlot bring some additional complexity to this Cabernet, but itrsquo;s still a pretty straightforward wine. Soft and dry, it has generous flavors of blackberry and new oak. Drink now.

Sturdy, intense, extracted and complex, with dense earthy currant, sage, cedar and mint flavors. Mount Veeder reds can be rugged, and even with an added year in bottle this is open-throttle. Very nicely done in a classic Mount Veeder style. Begs for more time. Best from 2014 through 2028.
