The Hess Collection Cabernet Sauvignon Allomi Napa Valley 2015

External Review:

The Allomi vineyard lies in the gently rolling hills of northeastern Napa Valley, where the combination of a typically long, warm growing season and well-drained soils create optimal ripening conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. Sustainably farmed, in each vintage, winemakers evaluate the grapes and select only the finest components for this cuvée. In the outstanding 2014 vintage the blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Sirah, 7% Malbec and 3% Petite Verdot aged 18 months in American oak (25% new). The wine offers distinct notes of vanilla and oak spice with red fruit flavors set off by flavors of currant and blackberry with integrated tannins and a round, plush mouthfeel. Awarded a 94 point Gold Medal in the 2016 Sommelier Challenge Competition!
