The Four Graces Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Wine 2016

Member Review by VegasOenophile:

Big tart cherry nose. Light spice and slate. Hints of lilac. Delicate currant and plum on the palate with a spicy, refined finish. Very young and tight yet. 87 pts. 11/10/12

The Four Graces is named in honor of their four daughters – Alexis, Vanessa, Christiana, and Jillian. Brother Nicholas is recognized on the Reserve as "Keeper of The Four Graces." The nose reminded me of young, yeasty Beaujolais, making me think it was still a bit too young to drink. VERY tight palate, high in acid. Flavors of bright red cherry and berry. Will be nice when it mellows out in a few years. Tasted at Marche Baucchus 11/10/12

This is a very mellow, smooth drinking Pinot Noir with that familiar cranberry flavor that I'm finding in almost all '09 vintage Willamette Valley Pinots. It also displayes blackberries and earth. I love the super long finish and well balanced acidity.

Winemaker Notes: On the nose the 2013 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is earthy and elegant. It shows expressive tannins and dark red fruit, bearing all the hallmarks of a great New World Burgundy. The palate is soft with swarming notes of bramble fruits, cherry pie, and cranberries. While it is vibrant and delicious in its youth the focused tannins suggest aging with grace. French oak has contributed a velvety softness without masking the lovely red and black fruit characteristics. Aging: 8 months in 100% French Oak, 13% New Alcohol: 13.1%
