Has California written all over it (super sunny and sugary in the glass). Wish there was an indication of varietals used. Pairs well with Ants Marching.

Full disclosure: I am a Dave fan. In other news, this is really not that bad of blend. It's good enough to keep pissed owls from hanging in the tree and that is a plenty good alibi for me. I give it a B- deluxe.

Dave Matthew makes great music and nice Carbernet. At first sip, I tasted a hint of chocolate and berries. I've read good reviews about his "Crush" red blend so I plan to try that next. Kudos to Dave.

Winemaking:The wines were aged in oak for 18 months and then carefully blended to bring out the true character of the varietal.Tasting Notes:Classic aromas of blackberry, cherry, and dry herb notes are wrapped by toasted vanilla and soft, mouth-filling tannins. Its elegant and supple.Food Pairing:A fun start or end to any meal or gathering. Also enjoyed with grilled rack of lamb or richlentil salad.2012 Vintage:The 2012 growing season saw moderate temperatures with above-average sunlight exposure on the North Coast. Weather conditions during bloom promoted a strong set and larger-than-average crop. Given this large crop and moderate temperatures, it took a long time for the fruit to ripen, resulting in flavor development racing ahead of sugarsideal for flavorful, well-balanced wines. The late rain at the end of the harvest urged us to move quickly on picking the remainder of the fruit. Overall, the wines from the 2012 vintage show excellent color extraction, intense varietal aromatics, and great concentration. By all accounts, it was a very strong vintage for wine quality. - WineryVarieties: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon15% Merlot2% Cabernet FrancAging: 18 months in oakTotal Acidity: 6.1g/LpH: 3.63RS: 3.8g/LAlcohol: 13.85%

A blend of the North Coast’s nest varieties, this wine pulls you in with a oral berry note and then jumps up with a raspberry jam. - Winery

When singer-songwriter Dave Matthews wanted to create his own wine he went to a very reliable source. Veteran winemaker Steve Reeder knows his way around the vineyards of California's North Coast like few others, having made wine for Kendall-Jackson, Chateau St. Jean and now Simi Vineyards, he was the ideal partner. Dave and Steve's Dreaming Tree Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot 5% Cabernet Franc and a few other gems aged 18 months in oak. With a focus on minimal environmental impact, the grapes are sourced from sustainably farmed vineyards using no pesticides. The label is made from recycled paper, the bottles are lightweight (1/4 pound less than standard) and the corks come from sustainably grown trees. The wine meanwhile, shows abundant fruit with notes of cherry, blackberry, anise and vanilla. It's soft and with a lush texture that makes it great match for everyday foods.

For Crush, Dave and I hand-selected a special blend of our favorite varieties to create a red wine that pulls you in with notes of smoky berry and a pop of raspberry jam. Around the dinner table or out on the patio, it s a wine you re going to want to share with your favorite people.

The rhythm of this Cabernet Sauvignon highlights classic aromas of blackberry, cherry and herbal notes wrapped by toasted vanilla. It's an easy-drinking wine with a lot of character.
