Member Review by raindance:

Must have been good. My daughter-in-law drank it all by herself. Unusual only in the amount she consumed.

A special place where early European settlers first crossed the fast flowing waters of the Awatere River in Marlborough, New Zealand. The Crossings was founded by a group of wine lovers who dreamed of crafting outstanding wines from grapes grown in the picturesque Awatere Valley in the Marlborough region at the north eastern tip of the South Island of New Zealand. Their dream was realised in 2001 with the first vintage of The Crossings. Today, with three superb vineyards producing Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and a state-of-the-art winery, The Crossings wines have an enviable reputation for quality in several of the world's most discerning markets. The 143 hectare (353 acres) estate is planted on three distinctive vineyards, each on alluvial river terraces, on the northern bank of the Awatere River. Read less

I rencently went to a restaurant in cornwall and sampled the crossings sauvignon blanc and it was fantastic. Best bottle of white i've ever drunk. I had a fish dish and it complemented it wonderfully. highly recommended

Tangy and refreshing, with tropical overtones to the core of citrus and Key lime pie flavors. Lemon thyme notes kick in on the finish. Drink now. 50,367 cases made.

Delicately scented of lime leaves, gooseberries and mown grass, the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc offers a good intensity of citrus and herbal flavors with pleasant harmony and a refreshing finish of moderate persistence.

The Crossings is one of a small group of pioneering Awatere Valley winegrowers. Recognized as a distinct subregion of Marlborough, the Awatere Valley’s low vigor soils and dry climate produce grapes with intense fruit flavors, infused with a delightful minerality. 2013 was an excellent vintage and an increased proportion of the very special Medway Vineyard fruit has enhanced this 2013’s intensity and texture. Winemaking was centered on retaining the vintage’s vibrant fruitiness underpinned by lovely acids and the distinct mineral signature of the Awatere Valley. The Wine Spectator said it was "Tangy, with a core of green apple, passion fruit and Key lime flavors. Smooth and intense, finishing on a mouthwatering note. Drink now."

The palate has soft gooseberry notes against a wonderfully vibrant intensity leading into a ripe and nicely textured mid-palate. Lime zest flavours spring from the mouth-watering acidity and signature minerality of the palate and very persistent finish.

Displaying flinty, mineral undertones, this wine shows intense flavors of tangy limes on a finely textured palate with a wonderful length of flavor. Lovely aromas of vine passion fruit mixed with citrus notes

The wine presents powerful aromas of passionfruit on the nose, combined with a complex palate where melon and stone fruit flavours are underpinned by a racy acidity and the classic flinty, mineral undertones of Awatere Sauvignon Blanc
