Terre da Vino Barolo 2006

Member Review by RobertoPatriarca:

WS: 90. Aromas of plums, blackberries and raisins follow through to a full-bodied palate, velvety tannins and a plummy, fresh herb aftertaste. Well done. And excellent value. Best after 2007. #3

The many guests who arrive at our winery every day cannot help but notice that they are literally surrounded in every direction by vineyards. The view is breath-taking, unique not only because the Langhe is one of the world’s most renowned winegrowing region, but also because our own cellar in Barolo is the focus of a concentration of wine production practically unequaled in Italy. This impressive production capability allows us to pursue a truly rigorous selection process and to offer wines of the highest quality as well as some extremely distinctive and individual bottlings. Our product line includes wines recognised world-wide as well as native varietals known only locally, but the philosophy remains the same: only wines from Piedmont, only wines that are DOC and DOCG! We invite everyone to visit us in Barolo: it is indeed a rare occasion when you can witness, from high above on a flying passageway, all the steps of winemaking, from fermentation through ageing and bottling! White pepper on the nose and classic tar and roses in the mouth. This is exactly what I hope for in Barolo of age:at first the tar is subdued with beautiful fruit to the fore. Time and food diminishes the fruit leaving the tar more prominent to good effect.
