Terrazas de Los Andes Torrontés Reserva 2008

Château Troplong Mondot is grown on extensive vineyards rich in limestone clay soils. Powerful, well-structured with pronounced complex tannins, its deep aromas of truffles and blackberries develop over time.
This is an easy 4 glass rating, probably deserves a little more. Has an aromatic nose of dark fruit and licorice perfume. The palate is dense and compact, with a good balance of fruit, minerality, licorice, and some underlying spice from the small cabernet content (5% cabernet franc, 5% cabernet sauvignon, 90% merlot). Medium, dry finish. Very classy wine with a good pedigree and place in St. Emillion. 93 points.
a nice blended wine with a slight creaminess and a crisp acid backbone; some nice fresh fruit on the nose, fairly simple.
Incredible floral nose which leads to a crisp yet oily wine with nice peach flavors. Finishes on a delicate lemon flavor.
I think we got this wine in a wine club and I can tell you I am going to find out where I can get more. What a pleasant surprise! Perfect for a hot summer night! And so elegant and balanced- medium bodied with luscious fruit/citrus- yet not too forward or sugary; and just enough acidity that you barely notice it at all. All components blended in perfect harmony unlike so many wines that seem to be overdone screaming for attention these days. Excellent on its own or with light poultry/fish dishes.

What a worthy rival to the prodigious 2005! This is another superb success from proprietress Christine Valette, but it is distressing to hear that this property may be up for sale. The inky/blue/purple-colored, formidably concentrated 2008 exhibits a... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Troplong-Mondot 6000ml
Still a touch firm, as the cocoa and roasted tobacco notes frame the core of plum, fig and blackberry fruit. The smoky finish has a nice charcoal edge. This is well-defined and should unwind with modest cellaring. Powerful for the vintage. Best from ... Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Troplong-Mondot 1500ml
This brilliant Torrontés is crafted in northern Argentina’s La Rioja region. The Torrontés grape, a distant cousin of Muscat, produces distinctively aromatic white wines, and we think they are some of the best bottles to come out of Argentina lately. The “Plata” is dry on the palate, with notes of mixed white flowers, yellow plums, and even some white peppercorn on the finish. Overall, it has a remarkably fresh character, enabling it to complement lighter dishes without overwhelming them. It’s fresh and surprising each and every time you open a bottle.
A wine of the vintage candidate in 2008, Troplong Mondot's offering was produced from yields of 41 hectoliters per hectare and achieved 14.5% natural alcohol. A classic blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, it offers copi... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Troplong-Mondot 750ml
