User Reviews for Terrazas de Los Andes Malbec Reserva
Add your reviewBright ruby red. Bit of a medicinal nose with a background of blackberry and chocolate. Medium to heavy mouthfell with a striking unexpected sweetness to it. Continuation of the blackberry and chocolate profile noted on the palate with a nice blend of tannins.
Rich plum color, aromas of black stone fruits and spices; flavors of plums, boysenberries, blueberries, mint, leather and coconut with supple tannins and good length. Fire up the grill!
dark red color....great nose of violets and red fruit...very soft on the mid pallate with a big lingering finish...
Another nice vintage from Terrazas. A good solid Malbec that is easily found and good for anyone to try out.
Ripe plum and black cherry flavors abound, mixed with the tiniest hint of ammonia in the nose, which subsides quickly. The wine is still rather tannic, but the rough structure and seemingly endless finish suggest it will improve with a few more years. (AV 87, http://argovino.com/?p=514)
Great wine for the price! Robust flavour - very rich and full. This is not a thin Argentinian Malbec! This is an excellent wine.
External Reviews for Terrazas de Los Andes Malbec Reserva
The 2009 Malbec Reserva received the same elevage as the Cabernet. Inviting aromas of balsam wood, lavender, underbrush, a hint of truffle, and black cherry lead to a ripe, plush, layered, Malbec with excellent balance and length. Drink this excellent value from 2012 to 2019.
The 2008 Malbec is dark ruby-colored with a pleasant nose of cinnamon, violets, and black cherry. This leads to an easy-going, friendly wine with ripe fruit and spicy flavors. It can be enjoyed over the next three years.
Slightly bouncy, brambly and foxy, with bubblegum and red-fruit aromas. The palate is sweet, friendly and plump, with a pretty good mouthfeel and candied berry flavors in the lead. Young and sticky on the finish; sweet and lively as a whole.
Full red-ruby. Spicy cherry, currant and plum aromas are complicated by a whiff of vanillin oak. Supple and easygoing, with dark berry, black cherry and licorice flavors framed by a firm spine of acidity. Offers attractive texture and concentration for the price.
A bright, slightly high-toned style, with red cherry, vanilla and red plum notes backed by a fresh, floral-tinged finish. Drink now.
The purple-colored 2007 Malbec offers a fragrant nose of black cherry and violets. This leads to a forward, ripe, fruity wine with savory flavors, good concentration, and a pleasing personality. Drink this very good value over the next three years.
Winemaker's Notes:
Colour: Profound cerise with florid, rubicund highlights. Aroma: Freshly crushed violet flowers envelop a deep core of jam preserves and ripened plums typical of Mendoza´s Vistalba region. Palate: Racy notes of violet and graphite, are followed by mouthfuls of dry cherries and fresh berry fruit. The luscious mid-palate, gives way to powdery tannins and a delicate herbal blend infused finish that adds to complexity.
