After traveling around the region, Poirier visited Luján de Cuyo, in Mendoza. Highly impressed by the local conditions for winemaking and the presence of excellent high elevation vineyards, Poirier and Moët & Chandon decided to set up its first ever vineyards outside France. After decades of experiencing with sparkling wines production, in 1999, Moët Hennessy Wine Estates and Bodegas Chandon Argentina opened Terrazas de los Andes Winery - a varietal still-wines initiative based on its emblematic high-elevation vineyards, fed by the Andes meltwater. Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Ripe but focused, with dark berry and fig fruit backed by sweet, bacony toast and spice notes. Drink now. 64,000 cases made

Lime-orange scents waft around a core of ripened pear and litchee.

Wine Tasting NotesIntense golden yellow. Concentrated ripe fruit aromas, especially apricot and peaches, combine with tropical hints of mango and pineapple. Fermentation in new oak barrels gives the wine its richly toasted vanilla and caramel aroma. Nuances of dried fruits, hazelnuts and honey provide the wine with a delicious complexity. Full-bodied, rounded and dense, yet somehow crisp at the same time. Tropical flavors give way to a flinty mineral quality. This wine stands out for its smooth and complex structure, resulting in a long and lingering finish.

Wine Tasting NotesYellow hue of medium intensity. Intense fruit. Citrus aromas stand out, especially lime. Tropical fruits reminiscent of pineapple and banana blend harmoniously with aromas of vanilla and caramel. Medium bodied, rounded and smooth on the palette. This wine is intense but soft and easy to drink. The aromas linger on the palette offering a lengthy finish.
