Terranoble Carménère Valle del Maule Reserva 2010

Member Review by Eric Guido:

This wine was a showstopper as its expressive nose showed a balanced mix of red and black berries, pretty floral notes with a bit of stemy funk, and mocha and oak, which followed close behind. On the palate, it showed great balance as its rich body gave way to juicy red berry fruit with cinnamon and black pepper. The finish was long, showing a mix of ripe berries.

The coloring is dark purple, that goes along with notes of vanilla, spicy oak and dark berries. A complex wine with flavors of concentrated dark fruit, cocoa and spice, yet slightly sweet and leathery. Although a heavy, full-bodied wine, it drinks as smooth as silk. I buy this wine by the case. Brilliant. P.S. The wine packaging is by far my favorite of all wines.

from 2 Days per Bottle. The nose was startling in its clear, unmistakable coffee smell, like fresh espresso. That was followed by some blackberries. Coffee was prevalent on the palate, too, with dark chocolate and blackberries. Tannins were very slightly dusty, but not obtrusive. This was a very enjoyable rich wine, a good food wine, and a great QPR.
