Terranoble Carmenere Ca1 Andes 2013

External Review:

The 2010 Carmenere Andes CA1 has a comparatively refined nose for a Carmenere — those chocolate scents tempered, replacing them with lifted black fruit, wild hedgerow and a touch of peppermint. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, plenty of crisp black fruit laced with white pepper, while the finish is surprisingly austere and just a little too dry for my liking. While I appreciate the style of this wine, it would be improved with more flesh and weight on the finish. Drink now–2016.

Vivid ruby. Complex bouquet of red berries, dried flowers, Asian spices and woodsmoke. Redcurrant and cherry flavors are complicated by star anise and clove, with brisk acidity adding verve. The nervy finish lingers impressively, with the spicy notes echoing.
