Terra Valentine Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District 2003
On February 14, 1886, Valentine Wurtele surprised his parents by following his twin brother into the world. Without a name picked out ahead of time, his parents chose to name him after St. Valentine. One hundred ten years later, Valentine's son Angus honored his father by naming his vineyard and winery, Terra Valentine. This special blend of estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon, limited to 500 three-liter bottles, is a 120th birthday tribute to Valentine Wurtele and the celebration of St. Valentine's Day. , 3L
High above the Napa Valley on Spring Mountain, Terra Valentine is a small production Cabernet Sauvignon house making intense and beautiful estate wines since 1996.
While this wine isn't bad, it has a different style from other wines in the region that I have grown to enjoy. The mineral and herb hints overwhelmed the fruit for me in this wine leaving me with a someone bitter finish. They do have a great property, and it seems like they are increasing the marketing of this wine. Hopefully it will get better.
