Editorial Reviews for Terra Noble Carmenère Gran Reserva
Super fine sage, menthol and spinach notes. Jammy, almost fudgy fruit. Really pronounced carob notes, jammy black fruit with wild strawberry hints, black cherry. Opulent and rich, soft tannins, mouthful lung, gentle rosemary herbal spice top notes, fine crushed currant and black cherry fruit, hint of green orange peel, rich with soft tannins, fine bright acid, juicy finish, spicy finish, little bit of heat. Finish shows a touch balsamic, very fresh and zesty. 90pts

Wonderful example of the Chilean Carmenere. New world and fruit forward but complex and incredibly balanced. Easy to drink and keeps you wanting more. Hints if red berries amongst a mix of playful tannins.
Lapostolle was founded by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet in 1994. Its objective is as simple as it is ambitious: to create world-class wines using French expertise and the superb terroirs of Chile.
That earthy, dirty, nose/taste with barnyard and tobacco essence, is something I like in many wines. This may not be for everyone... however the fruit is lusher, fruitier than I normally prefer, but the earthiness and toasted vanilla seem to balance it out. BTW, I agree with the snooth pairing recommendation of arugula, steak, and pear pizza....
Shows a nose of dark berries, mineral earthiness, pepper and spices with some notes of coffee as it breathes. The palate shows big dark berries, with some dusty sweet spices and pepper with a finish of cherries mixed with some spices, coffee bean and menthol.
There's noticeable oak on the nose, giving it a nice, noble quality. Toasty richness. Some cinnamon and spice box. Slight hints of tobacco leaf. Downplayed fruit. On the palate it has rich texture. Great structure and balance. Rich red berry fruit. Some white pepper and spice. The oak element adds a nice layer. It's a sexy wine with almost a hint of flowers. Very nice. Lingering spicy red berry.

The Carmenère grape came to Chile via Bordeaux in the late nineteenth century, and lately it's been more at home in South America than France. The red wines made from this grape can range from refreshing and easy-drinking to full-bodied and dense. This is one of the brawnier ones, with rich, dark fruit and a touch of spiciness from oak aging.

Winemaker's Notes:
Dunkelrote Farbe.
