Terra d'Oro Barbera Amador County 2007
Hot hot hot nose! The heat masks the fruit somewhat, but there's cherry and violets in there. Big wine, round flavor with tar and burnt rubber.Add winemaker's notes

First of all, the best Barberas are from Amador County and the foothills of California. Those grapes get the heat during the day and the cooling at night. Terra D' Oro is top notch. You get the deep and dark flavors of a super Tuscan big wine but with a smooth finish. This wine can easily be an everyday wine and fit many food pairings.
Big wine for a little price. Like Mark said, the nose is hot; however, overall, the alcohol is well-balanced amongst the plethora of eccentric notes embodied by this wine. This wine is highly versatile in terms of pairings and makes for a pleasant drinking experience all on its own. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
