Rich, luscious, mouth-coating, with deep dark fruit and pepper. Spicy nose, big fruit on the palate and a long finish of chocolate and blackberry.
Popped and poured. Beautiful floral and fruity nose. Blackberries and violets for days...I could sniff this all week and be a happy man. Until I poured it into my mouth that is. Don't know what happened to this wine, but it is just WRONG. Not corked, but may be somewhat oxidized or something, because it tastes nothing like prior samples I've enjoyed. Bitter, very little fruit, and what bit I did get was very sour. Bitter finish, not enjoyable at all. No hint of TCA or signs of cork failure, just a bad bottle of wine. Dumped the bottle. Terra Blanca has consistenly been one of my go-to wines for pure enjoyment, but this wine just fails to deliver past the aroma. I picked up 2 bottles at the local QFC, in the Reduced bin, for $11 ea. Now I know why...wonder what I should do with the 2nd bottle now.
Very fruit-forward, with great earthiness and pepper smells. Nice balance between acidity, tannins and fruit. Blackberry fruit with nice peppery flavors, and a touch of leather/earthiness that makes the wine very tasty.
Terra Blanca is consistent with making mediocre wines at best. Can't believe anyone thinks they have anything that great.
