Terra Andina Carménère 2009
Want a good red for under $10? Chilean Carmenere is always a good choice. Dark fruit with a touch of anise, leather, bergamot, cigar tobacco. Silky finish. Nice wine typical of other Chilean Carmeneres in the price range (Cono Sur, Santa Alicia, Casilliero del Diablo), very good for the price. Mellows out nicely over the course of a few days, opened on Friday and its just as enjoyable on Sunday.Add winemaker's notes
Terra Andina combines the promise and innovation of new world winemaking with the tradition and passion of old world ideals. The resulting wines are as seductive in their fruit forward style as they are armonious in their balance.

Perfect backyard summer red - a bright purply-pink color in the glass with fresh aromas of violets and blackberries. Delightfully tasty on the palate with ripe berry, a hint of white chocolate and blueberries lasting on the finish. Great value - Terra Andina Carmenere and Cabernet are my go-to bargain reds.
The result is a unique and memorable wine, very complex and intense, with notes of blackcurrant and roasted chili. The palate is smooth, rich and elegant.
A wonderful introduction to the Carménère grape, this wine is flavorful and complex, with the essence of smoked cherries, blackberry, tobacco leaf, cocoa and spices.
Opaque ruby. Pungent aromas of black cherry, smoke and black pepper. Then sappy, sweet and light-bodied, with good verve to the black and blue fruit and licorice flavors. Somewhat clenched, but backed a firm spine of acidity and good closing cut.
Ruby-red. Jammy red and dark berries on the nose, with gentle spiciness building in the glass. Creamy and sweet, with vivid raspberry and blueberry flavors, zero tannins and good snap to the finish. This is a pretty amazing bargain and extremely easy to drink.
