Terlato Pinot Noir Russian River 2007
The Russian River Valley is uniquely suited to the challenging yet rewarding Pinot Noir grape. The cool climate and evening fog allow for an extended growing season and the opportunity for Pinot Noir to reach its full flavor potential. This 2007 Pinot Noir is Burgundian in style with an elusive aroma of violets, raspberries and strawberries and a light, nicely acidic balance.

Light raspberry and cherry flavors intermingled with a delicate leather note. Good fruit and some sweetness resulting in a wine that is soft and mineral. Balanced and almost restrained with a lot of minerality. Tart raspberries on the finish. Very nice.

Crisp assertive acidity primes the palate for bright red raspberry and tangy cherry flavors while the solid mid-palate offers a firm backbone of sweet tannins before finishing with a lingering spice note. Enjoy this very approachable sipping wine on its own or with food over the next for 3-5 years. Justin Wong.
