Oaky and nutty on the nose with oak dominating the fruit at the moment. With air the wood does come into better balance but it does remain assertive. Rich spicy oak up front is followed by some deep candied cherry tones framed with gentle suggestions of green spice. A fairly big wine with a drying, spicy finish. 88pts
