Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

The nose showed sour red berries and sweet spice in a bittersweet performance. On the palate, red berries and herbs were on display, yet it came across one-dimensional and ultimately disappointing through the finish.

Black licorice, cola and cherry liqueur open the nose and segue to black currant and crème de cassis aromas, then forest floor, bramble and Spanish cedar. This wine is linear, crisp and tight on the palate, with firm tannins. Give the wine five more years to soften. - M.L. Cherry and plum fruit are enhanced by tobacco and black tea accents in this firm red. Leans toward drying tannins in the balance. Moderate length. Best from 2013 through 2020. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 25,000 cases made. -BS The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is a pretty wine laced with dried cherries, crushed flowers, licorice and spices. The wine's mid-weight structure and modest depth both suggest it is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. Medium cherry-red. Moderately ripe aromas of red cherry, menthol, herbs and flowers. Supple but a bit diffuse, showing decent sweetness but in need of a bit more intensity and depth. Fini...

Moderately ripe aromas of red cherry, menthol, herbs and flowers. Supple but a bit diffuse, showing decent sweetness but in need of a bit more intensity and depth. Finishes with a broad dusting of tannins and modest length. I don't find the flavor definition shown by this producer's 2006s. - Stephen Tanzer 87 Points
