Tenuta Sant'Alfonso 2010 - 89 points, Wine Enthusiast/ What sets this wine apart is the elegant intensity that distinguishes the bouquet. Notes of wild berries, coffee, leather, wet earth and pressed violets appear throughout. In the mouth, it has crisp cherry tones and bright acidity.

Tenuta Sant'Alfonso 2011 - 87 points, Wine Enthusiast/ Made entirely from Sangiovese, this wine features aromas of violet, ripe red berries and coffee. The juicy, straightforward palate offers mature black cherry and blackberry layered with espresso notes. The wine has firm tannins, but since it reflects the warm vintage, it isn’t an ager. Enjoy soon.

/ The output of Sergio Zingarelli's winery is awesome. Sergio is never happier than when putting his skills to the test, keeping a weather eye on the market or looking after his top-of-the-range selections. Tenuta Sant'Alfonso '01 is subtler, showing fresh aromas and a supple, elegantly enjoyable body.

Recommended Wines: 2003 Chianti Classico/ Moisture-retentive soils saved the day here, and it shows. Lean but intense cherry aromas, and a full-bodied palate that has grip but is not too tannic.
