Tenuta Sant'Alfonso 2009 - 89 points, Wine Enthusiast/ This is a pure expression of Sangiovese. The grapes clearly benefited from the strong Tuscan sun, lending the wine a soft, velvety feel, with balanced acidity and freshness. Careful oak aging adds spice and richness.
Recommended Wines: 2003 Chianti Classico/ Moisture-retentive soils saved the day here, and it shows. Lean but intense cherry aromas, and a full-bodied palate that has grip but is not too tannic.
