Tenuta San Guido Supertuscan Blend Toscana IGT Guidalberto 2010
Winemaker's Notes:
The 2010 Guidalberto comes across as cool and inward in this vintage. Most recent Guidalbertos have been delicious upon release, but this is a wine that will need another year or two before it starts opening up. There is plenty of energy and vitality in the glass, but readers will need to be patient. Dark red cherries, flowers, licorice and a hint of tobacco are layered into the firm, structured finish. In 2010 the blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Add your reviewThe nose showed intense red fruits, powdered sugars and hint of herbs. The palate was pure and balanced with red fruit and great acidity. The finish was medium long with red fruits and tobacco. The ’09 Guidalberto is a very good wine that would score much higher in my book, at half its price.
Very tight nose. Some leather and earth tones. A great cab/merlot blend. Very sexy and rich. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 7/24/10
I've consumed 6 bottles of this wine during the past year and it is always delicious and goes well with hearty food.
Tasted February 2012 After 10 years fruit is still in evidence, plum jam and black currant, cigar tobacco, china and undergrowth. Balsamic notes, peppermint, bloody notes. The sip have a nice acidity, just a slight oxidative notes and nice smooth tannins. Plum accompanied by a slight spiciness then close slightly bitter. Assaggiato a febbraio 2012. Con 10 anni sulle spalle la frutta è ancora in evidenza, confettura di prugna e ribes, tabacco da sigaro, china e sottobosco. Note balsamiche, mentolate, e traccie ematiche. In bocca ha ancora una bella acidità, appena una lieve nota ossidativa e tannino levigato. Ritornano le note fruttate di prugna accompagnate da una lieve speziatura per poi chiudere delicatamente amarognolo.

Purple-tinged ruby-red. Primary aromas of cassis, ripe black cherry, licorice and ink, with a welcome violet note adding freshness; much darker and riper than the Le Difese. Smooth, dense and full, with impressively concentrated dark fruit flavors lifted by harmonious acidity. Finishes with a trace of heat and a repeating blackberry note. Another very serious Guidalberto, though this strikes me as being a good deal riper and bigger than some more perfumed, refined versions of years past. Still, insiders know that this is a sure-bet restaurant choice as it’s usually as good as, but much less expensive than, some of the Tuscan Coast’s big names.

Guidalberto is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with soft tannins and a lingering spice flavor on the finish. The bouquet is marked by cherry, blackberry, leather and tobacco notes. The intensity is present but not overdone.

A very intense violet color. On the nose it is very long and persistent; the palate has an excellent, well balanced structure that is well rounded, gentle and delicate. It's significant organoleptic depth, which is soft and round, and good polyphenolic st

Intense aromas of dried cherries and plums with hints of rose stem. Full body, with fine tannins and a crisp and delicious finish. Very yummy. Drink now or hold. James Suckling. A Proprietary Blend wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2010 San Guido Guidalberto 750ml
