Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia(1990)

GRAPE VARIETY: ±85-90% Cabernet Sauvignon, ±10-15% Cabernet Franc MAXIMUM YIELD: 30-32 hl/ha (134-144 cases/acre) ALCOHOL: ±12.5% Strong, concentrated, with sweet and balanced tannins on the palate. Very long finish with very important organoleptic and poliphenolic aspects, which will ensure to this wine an extraordinary longevity. Following a very precocious malolactic fermentation, the wine begun at the beginning of November its ageing period of 24 month in french oak barriques, one third new.

Bright red, but without the healthy sheen of the 1995. Very, very rich, spicy, meaty nose; but acidity is a bit obvious on the palate. Chewy. Very slightly falling apart. Dangerous! Not intense or long. Dusty.
