GRAPE VARIETIES: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon 15% Cabernet Franc FERMENTATION: A period of contact with the skins of approximately 15 days in temperature controlled steel vats with a combination of pumping over of the cap and 'delestage' AGING AND REFINEMENT The wine is aged in French oak barriques (one third new oak) for 24 months. The wine is refined for 6 months in bottles before release PRODUCTION: Approximately 180,000 bottles
Good deep ruby red in the glass, generous notes of chocolate raisins, some herbs and a little smoke. Mid bodied and well balanced, lovely mouth feel with silky tannins. Blackberry on the mid palate, very fresh, lively and fruity. Long sumptuous finish. Stellar effort. 94 Points
4.25 to 4.5 stars Appearance: deep ruby/ slight brick core transitioning to ruby rim Nose: medium intensity with aromas of cherry (red & black), black tea, currant (red & black) Palate: medium+ velvety tannins, high acidity, long length, flavors of black tea, black cherry, red currant, rose. The wine is very complex layered, perfectly balanced which transitions from the fresh fruit elements to the more dried elements with time.
