Tenuta Guado Al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore 2001
A dense ruby with purple highlights, the wine is loaded with aromas and flavors of perfectly ripe blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, minerals, sage, and thyme. The wine is more fragrant and more finely-spun than Antinori’s other Bordeaux wine, Solaia, but there is no lack of concentration and density here, though both are tempered by a satiny texture and polished tannins which are all elegance and breed. Drink: 2006-2021.
Rich nose of plum, dark cherry, chocolate, damp earth and savory meaty aromas. Followed by full bodied dark fruits, plum jam, vanilla and sage. Long finish with a good amount of tannin left leading me to believe that this wine still has quite a long life ahead of it.
Tuscan. Fennel seed+ green nose. Another super elegant wine. Amazing interesting but wonderful. Balanced tannin and acid. Perfect age - maybe 1-2 years more? Light medicine in body - herbs. $95
