The first bottles of Brunello from the Sesta Estate were produced by Giuseppe Ciacci, father of the current owner, Giovanni, in 1966, the year in which Brunello was first recognized as D.O.C. At the time, there were only twelve bottlers and, for this reason, the Sesta Estate is deemed as one of the historical estates in the territory of Montalcino.

Ripe flavors of strawberry, cherry and licorice are accented by tobacco and spice in this elegant, medium-bodied red, with moderate tannins and a fruity finish. Best from 2014 through 2024.
The small family owned winery Tenuta di Sesta has a history dating back to the 15th century. The Ciacci family has owned the historic estate since 1850 but Giuseppe Ciacci began producing wine there in 1966, the very year that Brunello di Montalcino received its DOC status. Hence, Sesta is recognized as one of the appellation’s first producers. Modern winemaking practices are utilized throughout except aging is done in the traditional Slavonian oak casks. This Brunello DOCG ages for 36 months in barrels, and then a minimum of four months in bottle. Wine Enthusiast Magazine rated it 94 points saying "Tenuta di Sesta is run by a perfect father-mother-daughter-son team and is located in one of the least-traveled corners of Montalcino. The 2007 Brunello delivers sweet oak tones that drive the initial bouquet and are soon followed by bright cherry, vanilla bean, sweet mocha and rum cake. Pretty balsam notes at the back will undoubtedly increase and evolve with age. Cellar this wine 10 years."
