Tenuta di Nozzole Chianti Classico Riserva 2004
There’s a touch of VA on the nose here adding lift to the rich nose that combines elements of leather, tar, prosciutto and barnyard with jammy, candied cherry fruit tones. This has wonderful structure with great acids and fine tannins forming a very harmonious mouthfeel that supports the fresh, dark fruit on the mid-palate. While turning a bit leathery on the finish this has irresistible black cherry and mineral notes presented with wonderful purity. 91ptsAdd winemaker's notes
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

Fruity. Dry aftertaste.
Leathery with a bit of latex on the nose. Deep cherry flavors. A little bit of tannin is balanced with good acidity, letting this keep it's wet juicyness. Perfect with a nice Italian meal (I drank it with polenta + mushrooms and filet mignon and a chicken/spinach ravioli in marscarpone cream sauce).
This chianti pours deep garnet red, has an earthy nose, and an extremely wide flavor range that balances fruit and mineral tastes to make a very interesting wine. It dosn't have a particularly long finish and benefits on the front end from decanting and giving it some breathing time. Fairly priced and enjoyable to drink.

Of its 1,000 acres, approximately one third are planted in vineyards situated in numerous hillside microclimates supporting Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino vines and small plots of white Malvasia del Chianti and Trebbiano Toscano. The La Forra parcel is the estate's finest vineyard, situated on a southerly exposed slope at an altitude of 900 feet. Wine from this vineyard is produced as a single-vineyard Chianti only in exceptional vintages. Nozzole Chianti Classico Riserva La Forra is a wine of impressive concentration and depth, with an intense, aromatic fragrance of black fruit, leather and woodsy notes. On the palate, rich, ripe fruit is set in a firm tannic structure which is balanced, mellow and integrated...
