An exceptionally good value Italian red. Claiming to be a "Baby Super Tuscan," this one outclasses many of its higher-priced competitors. Made from 85% Merlot and 15% Cab, this wine exhibited expressive plum and cassis aromas. Restrained palate of currants, bitter herbs, and blackberry with a bitter black tea finish. Has at least 1-3 more years in it. What a great find.

I originally gave this a marginal review. However, the next day I tried this again and it was actually quite nice. The tannins seemed to calm down, and it was much better balanced. I would buy this again, and probably decant at least an hour before drinking.

Tasting Notes Inviting aromas of chocolate, ripe cherries and exotic spices lead into subtle floral notes of lavender and dusty rose. On the palate, lush fruit reminiscent of cherry pie fills the mouth, giving way to an endless finish of licorice, black pepper and cedar. Food Pairings Sausage with Spicy Green Beans, Pasta Bolognese, Game Hens with Pomegranates
