Tempranillo Finca la Linda. Luigi Bosca 2015

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Appearing quite dense but youthful with an edge of development. Heavy aromatics, dark and honeyed, with sweet black fruit and gentle spice notes. A bit dull in the mouth with a refreshing herbal character but a hot and hollow mid-palate. The finish is fairly long with oak driven notes of caramel and toffee. 82pts

The Arizus take pride in a tradition that was born more than one hundred years ago; years in which the family worked toward improving their technique and the observation and understanding of nature, thus giving rise to their approach to wine-making. This is also where their commitment to improving vintage after vintage and to better understand those who choose their wines takes root. Luigi Bosca’s future is challenging and is always thinking ahead. Its present is focused on the combination of daily work with the creation of new ideas. This is Bodega Luigi Bosca, this is how the Arizu family was created and this is how their history begins everyday, because their past is always a prologue to their future. Read less

Found this one at arguably the best Argentine wine shop anywhere. Brilliant Director of Wine for London's Gaucho restaurants, Phil Crozier, got in touch with Luigi Bosca to make this special, Barrancas-grown Tempranillo for their exclusive 'Terruño’ label. My favorite style of Argentina's most internally underestimated variety, with rich, smooth strawberry/cherry fruit and soft spice/oak notes. The class and balance on this one makes it one of the best Argentine Tempranillos I've ever tried, aside from Zuccardi's Q, of course. If in London, this one is a must, whether you have poured at the restaurant or pick one up at the adjacent shop.

Decanted for 2 hours. Nice dark red/purple color. Prunes or pomegranite and slight chocolate on the nose. Medium oak on the palate. Vanilla on the finish, along with slight tannins. Great QPR.
