Telmo Rodriguez Gazur Tempranillo 2010

Member Review by Terence Pang:

Made from 100% Tempranillo, this dark ruby coloured wine exhibits youthful aromas of blackberry, black cherry, finely ground coffee, flour and a pinch of Indian spice. A full-bodied wine, with med+ acidity but is fresh enough to provide some lift to the very detectable dry tannins. 14.8% alc, savoury black cherry flavours, dark blackcurrant with a flinty edge on the finish. An interesting yet easy-drinking wine, drink now – 2015. 89/100.

This is how the business started, originally under the name of Compañía de Vinos de La Granja. The name was a declaration of intent: it made it clear that the company would be producing more wines in the future and contained a homage to La Granja, the famous glassworks, a centre of outstanding Spanish craftwork that has all but disappeared.
