Food Pairings for Tedeschi Amarone Classico
Editorial Reviews for Tedeschi Amarone Classico
Produced seven times since 83, three thousand bottles, Dark, leafy edged black cherry fruit, and grilled meats dominate the nose which turns lightly spicy with cedary wood, handfuls of dried leaves and earth, black tea, and a little pencil lead with air. A bit low on the palate, this is soft and seamless with roasted and pruny fruit that none the less feels fresh on the palate, though with the truffliness that comes from surmaturite. Fairly firm and tannic, though the tannins are very well covered with black cherry fruit on the palate. The fruit gains some detail in the mouth, very well grounded with spicy mineral notes and exotic spice notes which lead to a finish that absolutely crushes the palate with tannin. This is a monster. Not sure what will happen with this wine. The prognosis is good but so outside my range of experience that one has to be conservative when thoughts turn to its future. 92pts

Dark ruby-red. Dark plum, blueberry jam, coffee and lavender on the slightly warm nose. Rich, dense and nicely focused, with peppery red and black fruit flavors complicated by coffee and cocoa nuances. Finishes with youthfully chewy but noble tannins, very good length and a lingering red berry perfume. Concentrated and high in alcohol, its very well balanced too and remarkably easy to drink. Possibly the best-ever entry level Amarone from Tedeschi. Theres a sanguine edge to this firm red, with a streak of minerality underscoring flavors of sour and red cherry, cigar box and red currant, with just a touch of sun-dried tomato. Theres a dense weave, yet this is still light-weight and silky on the palate. Best from 2013 through 2027. 725 cases imported. -AN The 2007 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a big, big wine. Plums, mocha, chocolate, spices, new leather and flowers are some of the notes that emerge from this fleshy, large-scaled Amarone. This is a fairly obvio...
A ruby red color with garnet reflections. Clear and transparent. A fresh bouquet with clear notes of cherry and currants. Good body, well-balanced and harmonic structure. The after-taste confirms the characteristics of the bouquet. Cellar for up to five years.
