Te Mata Estate Awatea 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Awatea ’08 has a dark crimson colour with fragrant aromas of blackberry, cherry, lavender and cedar. The palate is layered and complex, with fresh blackberry and raspberry flavours to the fore and ripe firm tannins on the finish. Awatea ’08 is a blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Petit Verdot. It will continue to evolve in bottle, providing great enjoyment between 4 and 8 years from harvest. It is a natural partner for savoury red meat dishes and hard cheeses.
