Martinborough, New ZealandTe Kairanga Chardonnay Casarina Reserve is a beautiful expression of this grape from the highly regarded Martinborough appellation of New Zealand. Te Kairanga is one of Martinborough's founding vineyards, established over 20 years ago. The wine region of Martinborough is located at the foot of New Zealand's North Island at latitude 40 degrees south, where a happy coincidence of geology and geography has created the perfect climate and terrain for making great wines. This Reserve Chardonnay received a rating of 89 points from Wine Spectator. We consider it a true white wine gem! Only 750 cases produced. Te Kairanga Casarina Reserve Chardonnay is light, golden honey in color with luscious aromas of melon, peach, mango and passion fruit backed by classic herbal notes of boxwood, nettle and ripe capsicum. The palate shows a creamy texture with crisp lime acidity and flavors of tropical fruit, vanilla and butterscotch. Oak complexity is beautifully integrated around this core. The wine is crisp and clean with lingering passion fruit on the long finish.Enjoy Te Kairanga Casarina Reserve Chardonnay over the next 3-4 years with grilled salmon, roast chicken, lobster, grilled vegetables and cheese.
