Taylor's Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Sweet Wine Port 2008
This is a single quinta wine, made in exactly the same way as Taylor`s Vintage Port, but using only the grapes from this individual property, trodden on the estate. Only small quantities are made, and only in very good years. Many experts believe Taylor`s Single Quinta Vintage Ports to be better than other companies declared years. The name of Taylor`s is more of an assurance than the year.Taylor`s has owned the beautiful estate of Vargellas for over a century, and it is acknowledged as one of the great vineyards of the world. It has the highest percentage of old vines of any quinta in the Douro, 60% being over 75 years old. Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Ports are ready to drink from ten years, but will go on developing for another twenty years or so - almost as long as Taylors declared Vintages.

"The essence of Taylor Fladgate's vintage wine in declared years
A beautiful, fruity wine that also has good structure to balance its black plum fruits. The acidity is important, although the wine as a whole is on the dry side, with spice and dominant final tannins.
Luxurious Drinks offers you: Port - red - 2008 - Taylor's Quinta de Vargellas - Portugal - Region: Douro - Apellation: Douro - Touriga nacional - 750 ml.
Dieser Port ist bekannt für seine Power und Kraft. In der Nase finden sich konzentrierte Aromen von dunklen Beeren wieder. Ein Port mit üppiger Fülle.
Black and smoky, this vintage from the arid steeps of Vargellas locks its sweet purple fruit behind austere tannin. Thereandrsquo;s suppleness in the room beyond, and a range of intriguing spices that seems to derive from the tannins of the Douroandrsquo;s otherworldly grapes. Long and intense, this needs 12 to 15 years to mellow.

Nuanced and firm as a young Vargellas should be, this '95 has true vintage quality. It's deeply concentrated and quite dry, with a dark fruit character completely wound up in the tart acidity and smooth, bitter chocolate tannins. the length of flavor and the potent structure show this to be more of a long-term wine than most of what '95 has to offer. it should be at its best between ten and twenty years from the vintage.
