Taylor Vintage Port 2011

External Review:

This is solid and powerful, with a dense mouthfeel that suggests a big and rich young Port. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long finish. Very tight and muscular. Almost 95-100. I expected a little more, but it could turn out even better after bottling.(WS-J.S.)

Wine Spectator ReviewTaylor is always closed and tight when young and this is no exception. Deep ruby-purple, ripe raisin and violet aromas, full-bodied, with sweet raisin and grape flavors, a lovely balance of full tannins and an explosion of fruit on the finish.

Clearly lives up to Taylor superb reputation. Deep ruby, with intense violet and chocolate aromas, full-bodied, with gorgeous fruit flavors, full but well-integrated tannins and an extremely long finish. Amazing balance and finesse. Still needs time.

The Taylor's 1970 Vintage Port is wonderfully sweet and complex aromas, very reminiscent of roasted meats, with a savoury-sweet, chargrilled note. It shows some impressively persistent fruit, notes of gently macerated cherry and plum, with pepper and nutmeg spices.

A big wine with superb balance, a shining example of this exuberantly fruity vintage. Deep ruby, with violets and coffee on the nose, full-bodied, with dried cherry flavors and plenty of tannin, balanced and long on the finish. –JS Wine Spectator. A Port wine from in Portugal. 1963 Taylor Vintage Port 750ml
