Deep dark color to this wine. Alcohol hits me at first though blows off quickly leaving a spicy profile to the wine. Dark chocolate with a backdrop of fruit that hints at cranberry, blueberry, and chokecherry, yet it still to tight to fully see. Lush and rich in the mouth like a silken glove on the tongue, and with an acidity that is strong and in your face. Deep rich raspberry flavors with a chocolatey richness and hints of clove, anise and pepper. Violets begin to show up with more air, and in reality if this wine is to sing it needs a long time in bottle or a long decanting before hand.
